Can Coffee bring Peace to the World?
World of Coffee San Diego 2026! Coffee brings the world together! 🌏
I like coffee! Just recently worked & attended the World of Coffee expo in San Diego!
So what did I learn at this expo?
In short. Coffee is such a fine example of globalization.
Where "... the flow of goods, services, capital, people and ideas across international boundaries."
This was hyper apparent at the expo. I was meeting many new people and learning from many new cultures. People flew in from all over the world, just to share their love for coffee and their piece of coffee supply chain.
So much coffee! All the caffeine jitters!
Whether it was the roasting machines from Switzerland, or espresso machines from Italy. Beans from Indonesia, Ecuador, Ethiopia, Guatemala... every continent (except Antartica) was represented.
As well as roasters, latte art competitors, cafe designers, packaging experts, engineers, business men and women, & coffee enthusiast from all over the world! It was such a wonderful thing to see.
So many little pieces of the coffee world were highlighted, things you never really think about!!
From the water quality, using a special filtration system to keep water consistent throughout classes and competitions. The cafe designers. Packaging. Processing of the beans. Business people (Coffee suppliers and buyers). Cafe Merchandise. & So Much More!!!
People really take it serious. I'm happy they do. We get a truly great product when we all work together (not just coffee, all things in general). And with competition, it just keeps pushing us to get better and better everyday.
Coffee is diplomatic in a sense, for this beverage of coffee, brings so many countries, cultures and people together. And that's the things that bridges the peace. Such a beautiful thing.
It just shows how important a small business can be and what it can do for the nation & their people. The friendships and connections it brings to the world.
People are nice, I can't wait for the next one. Hope to work the next one & reconnect with some old friends & make some new ones along the way!
