I was lucky to chat with Rose! An incredibly talented baker who is based in Japan 🇯🇵!

Here is what she had to say!

3 Pieces of Art (Inspiration)

A: I love watching The great British bake off! It’s a show that i look forward to every year. Other than that I guess just seeing others make different things, through Instagram or YouTube, makes me inspired to try to recreate it.

A: I started baking from a young age with my mom. She loves to bake as well and we used to bake together all the time when i was younger.

As for sourdough bread I started it because i was intrigued by the process. Usually with baking, if you follow the instructions/recipe without altering anything, you will be successful with the bake. But with sourdough, there is almost no one recipe/method that will be perfect every time as you are working with a natural live starter. Each person will make their bread in slightly different ways depending on their environment and I found that very interesting and a nice new challenge. I like that there is always more to learn to making a sourdough bread.

One Place that All People Should Visit

A: I cant think of one place that everyone should visit but i think people should visit national parks and other close by places where it is solely surrounded by nature. Being outside in the nature and exploring is something that I think everyone can benefit from.

If I were to recommend a friend a place, maybe I would recommend going to the country side of Mongolia during July or early August. Being able to see a milky way and just stargazing alone would make it an experience that most people have never experienced.

One Thing or action, that non bakers can do to make a baker happy/ make their lives a little bit easier

A: I can't speak for all bakers but I get very happy just seeing people enjoy what I made. That is part of the reason I bake, to bring people at least little bit of happiness. 😄
I guess most bakers would really appreciate if you offered to clean up for them afterwards 😂
