Long Form & Short Form Videos (Blogmas 2)
Thoughts on Long & Short Form Videos. Plus creators who are doing it well. (Blogmas 2)
So I've been observing/experimenting the different video format with short form vs long form. It's been an interesting thing.
It all has its pros and cons.
Pros: that it makes you get straight to the point and you have to be precise with every second. Cut the fluff and get straight into the meat of things.
Cons: Contribution to shorter attention spans. Less time to convey information, can be rushed.
But seeing other creators that use short form videos to hook to long form is a really interesting thing I've been seeing. And vice versa. Using long form videos and repurposing them into short form.
From what I've seen so far from:
Short Form to Long Form.
One creator I've been really enjoying is
I was originally hooked in by some of the short form videos and was intrigued to see frequent uploads of long form recently. To either beef up and extent discussion on short form clips, or just unique videos that need more context.
Long Form to Short Form.
One classic YouTube channel, if you like zoology and video games, Tierzoo is great.
Originally started making long form and slowly making short form clips now.
In the end, I'd say mastering short form and long form will be key for modern businesses.
Existing legacy brands to make short form clips from their existing content, and making fresh new short form videos.
And younger new creators, who were popular on TikTok, Instagram Reels, and YouTube Short. To eventually make long form videos in the future.
