Use what ya got (Blogmas 6 & 7)
Japanese Curry, Apples, Creativity, South Park 6-7, Yin & Yang
I missed yesterdays blogmas post, sorry!
So I'll just combine 6 and 7 insert gen alpha jokes :)
But I was making a Japanese boxed curry today and didn't have many potatoes.
So I used up the rest of my vegetables and fruit in my fridge.
One of those fruits were apples. This was actually a next level addition to the curry.
It added a sweet but tart flavor to the curry. And paired well with the other veg.
(cooked it enough, but not until it became mush).
So the moral of the story, use what ya got. These unexpected parings will blow your mind and can lead to many new creative findings. To discover new flavors and tastes.
I'm sure this paring has been done many times by many people before me, but it was new to me. And it is just practice to flex that creative intuition.
For example. Like rappers who freestyle on the spot, I'm sure it works a different part of the brain and these unexpected combinations can lead to new things and ideas over time.
Sure they probably have songs they have already written and can perform on the spot, but creative skill and intuition is also needed to break new ground. Might not be new to the industry, but could be new to the person.
This practice can help refine lyrical flow, or in this particular case, improve future recipes and menu items.
That ongoing pursuit for testing and trying new things is so wonderful.
Like scientists developing a new vaccine or new discovery are always pushing boundaries.
I do believe that to push boundaries, one must have routine and ritual as well.
To continue to do the same thing over and over again, to fail, to refine, to get better.
To push into the unknown is important.
Guess it's a Yin and Yang situation.
You need routine and you need to push boundaries from time to time.
