What does Jay Cutler, Kai Greene, & Sam Sulek Have in Common With Artificial Intelligence?
Bodybuilding and AI? Can we compete?

Well in short, it is the first part of the AI.

Artificial! Or Enhanced in some sort of way.

Also breaking down the rest of the word "Intelligence" or the knowledge on how to workout and live that body builder lifestyle.

You wouldn't tell a new person at the gym to immediately start juicing up and get as big as possible, and as quickly as possible.

Understanding & Knowledge

You get put through a "ringer" of knowledge & the lifestyle of it. Learn the ropes and the lay of the land, to get the experience of things.

Probably show them the ways on how to lift with proper form, to prevent injury, and get maximum results from the basic movements. Like Squat, bench, deadlift, bent over row, over head press, and different accessory work.

I lifted in this Powerlifting Comp in Fiji! So fun! Nicest People! Strongest people too!

Then, they'll probably introduce them into the lifestyle that is usually involved with a lifting. An introduction to the gym culture... from different resources, to supplements, recipes, cardio, etc.

Learn about their goals. If it's to cross train specifically for a different sport (volleyball, wrestling, rowing, etc). Or To Compete in olympic weightlifting, powerlifting, or body building.

And to know whether they want to find a workout plan, hire a coach, figure out themselves, work with a community online or in-person to help reach their goals. It is all up to the individual.

Then once you get your workouts down, food down, recovery down. Might invest in some nicer gear like lifting chalk, proper olympic lifting shoes, a lifting belt, a unisuit for competition, etc.

Specifically in bodybuilding you'll be using some sort of enhancement like a steroid or other external drug to help enhance your body. These things will not make you grow into a body builder overnight, but it will probably change your physique in one way or another. This is the choice of the individual, at their will.

There is also a huge sacrifice that these body building athletes give up in order to compete and look the way they do. Lots of hard strategic training, strains their relationships because they workout so much, the volume of food necessary and investing in the food, recovery, much more. It basically engulfs your entire life.

Don't Cheat?

So... Bodybuilders use this Artificial external drug / steroids to make them look bigger and get stronger...

This asks the question on whether natural bodybuilders are the most ethical? They won't look as big because they aren't allowed to use those external drugs. But that is the whole point of the sport right?

Body building is the sport where you show how far you can push the human body but the natural results just don't have as much of a shock factor as the enhanced athletes right?
Friend Tricked Into Bodybuilding Contest

This is what your resume looks like when it's not aided with AI

So you use these steroid drugs, get bigger and supposedly perform better too right?

But that is not always the case because of the "Enhanced Games" was supposed to be the Olympics but where athletes can use steroids. In the end three clean athletes won their events.

https://www.theguardian.com/sport/2026/may/25/enhanced-games-results-record-clean-athletes-win

In the AI use case. People and Businesses can use these AI tools to get these bigger gains, potentially 10x their businesses and profits right? "Juice up" the business.

Well I believe that it is not that simple... sure the modern landscape is always changing. If you don't use AI or learn about it, you'll be left in the dust. You are basically that "Natty" bodybuilder who does not use any enhancements and look like the odd man out on stage.

But who says you NEED to use it... but what about your ethics??

If you want to compete, you need it to win right? You want to get the job right? Let's use applying for a j*b in 2026... you'll probably use AI at some point to scan your resume (wouldn't recommend that) or use AI to help with a cover letter right?

Because these companies are using AI themselves to scan all resumes that come into their Applicant Tracking Systems. If your "Natty" resume that is not altered at all with AI comes through, you are basically the skinny guy, while all those other guys are juiced up bodybuilders.

And seems like companies are laying off their current employees at mass in order to utilize these so called "cost savings" and "performance gains" from AI.

Where does the ordinary person go? It's all efficiency?

We skipped the "ringer" part of this arc.

But we saw that clean athletes were still beating the "enhanced" athletes at the games?! So it's not all broken right? Can we still compete with AI at a clean ethical, non AI using human being? Is there hope?!

AI = Steroids?

Ok now that we see that AI is basically steroids for companies and businesses.

Like steroids (the actual drug) there are many drawbacks.

For body builders in the long term, their health deteriorates. Whether it is intense mood swings "Roid rage" or Low T, dependency on these steroids, or their body and muscles just unable to function normally because their put all that stress early on. Maxed everything out too quickly and are basically vegetables in their retired years.

AI negative side effects for companies and businesses (and the people / employees) are it beef-ens up the company in certain aspects by trimming the fat and making companies incredibly lean (less people to pay = less costs = more profits within the company).

Also basically workers/people unable to do the job and actually understand what is going on. They skipped the learning phase "The Ringer" (the AI systems are reducing entry level work).

The workers just don't have the tasks and work to practice critical thinking skills to figure things out, they need the times to fail and learn to get better in the future.

When things break and AI can't fix it for them... You'll end up hiring or contracting an "expert" to fix a specific problem. Just temporarily, creating an endless cycle of band-aid fixes... never a long term solution for bigger problems.

It's like cheating on a test, getting an A+ but never actually knowing what you learned. Not know how to use the formulas or understanding the rules correctly to double check your work.

Is this the type of people you want at your workplace??

It's probably a good idea for people to know how the business runs, how to think critically and fix things...

The Positives

Alright, It's not all negative. I do see some positives in AI and Body Building.

For Bodybuilding.

These guys are basically pushing what is possible for a human body, literally sculpting their body to how they see fit. Eat, sleep, lift. They are pioneering the bodybuilding sport. Because this is such a public facing sport, this allows body building athletes to build their brand and create a business off of their likeness and body. Leading to brand deals, recognition, competitions, etc.

Kai Greene https://www.ironmaglabs.com/2025/bodybuilding-fans-shocked-over-kai-greene/

They also become a champion for fitness and getting people to exercise, eat healthy, recover and build community at the gym. If their message brings that to the masses, then that is totally a win!!

But there will be some transparency in the industry. You can lift, eat, and sleep a bodybuilding lifestyle, but in reality you will never look like a Jay Cutler, Kai Green, Arnold Schwarzenegger, or Sam Sulek. You will have to juice up, and stare into the abyss of the bodybuilding world, if you truly decide to go down that route. It's not easy, so props to those athletes for going this hard on something they love.

In terms of AI.

There are totally some awesome aspects that businesses can use AI for like boring repetitive tasks, to automate tasks and stream line the assembly lines. Using AI to chip away at a big data set and see what the numbers mean and visualize it in a way that is useful for managers in their decision making, and much more.

But companies and businesses will still need people to understand what the AI is spitting out. Also figure out how to do it without AI and reverse engineer things if they need to.

This will also effect certain industries differently, some will still favor humans like hospitality (hotels, restaurants, airliners).
It is challenging for artists because you can generate a terrible logo in a few minutes or make terrible music with generative AI.
But transparency is going to be needed by these companies to show what is AI and what is human made.

Another hurdle to overcome is, since these companies are incentivized by profits, it may not be possible to see this sort of transparency with the use of AI...

I think the consumer also has a duty to gain more digital literacy and distinguish what is AI and what is real and human made. It is going to be harder and harder as AI gets better but that is the reality.

Intelligence

For both Bodybuilding and AI.

You still have to understand what you do, what you are solving and how to solve it. If all else fails you just start and square one again and rebuild, but you still need that knowledge in the space.

Body builders still need immense knowledge on working out, lifting / exercises, food, and the enhancements you are adding to the body. They still understand and go through this learning phase.

Sure you can use AI for everything and not know a thing about what you made and vibe coded a million dollar app. AI is just skipping the learning process and getting straight to the results.

But going through the "ringer" the "boot camp" and truly learning and understanding the work is more fulfilling and useful than that short term gratification.

At the end of the day it goes down to your own personal ethics and longterm value of yourself.

So to Wrap Everything up.

What Steroids are to bodybuilders.

Artificial Intelligence is to companies and businesses.

Steroids push the human body to its limit and the bodybuilders look huge, the bodybuilders / athletes create a name brand and business for themselves, potentially gets people into the gym. But it does have long term health repercussions for the users.

AI can reduce costs, improve efficiency, and push businesses to new horizons. But it can deteriorate and make an empty shell of a company. Where only there are a few people working there, and contracting "experts" to solve specific problems. Long term repercussions of nobody actually knows how this business runs.
